Cafe de L'Orangerie

This past weekend, me and bf revisted our current Japanese pasta joint in Marpole. I decided to try the Curry Hamburger steak with creamy pasta and rice on the side. The reason with the choice for so much carbs is that I usually eat curry with rice but, I also wanted to try their creamy pasta. That is my reasoning. Bf got the usual Masago pasta which consists of: squid, asparagus, fish roe and mushrooms. This was a creamy pasta as well. He also added a hamburger steak on the side. We started off with drinks: hot mocha and a hot shanghai fog which is the best! I love shanghai fog which I tried recently. It was milky, frothy and creamy with a hint of asian spices. The hamburger steak was soft and melt in your mouth consistency and the pasta was creamy but not too overwhelming because the curry was accompanying the dish. The curry tasted like the one my mom makes at home but without the chucks of vegetables it was finely chopped so there wasn't much bite to it. I also had salad on the side with my meal. The masago pasta was creamy and delicious and it is always consistent at the restaurant. The pasta was al dente which we love. Overall a great experience and on a Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm it was busy but we only waited about 5 mins for a seat.
