Landmark Hot Pot House

A couple of weeks ago my friend and I decided to arrange a meet up with two single friends of ours so we went for hot pot at Landmark. This place is one of my favorite places to go for hot pot. Its pricey so beware but the food is super fresh and everything is clean and tasty. That is why I love this place so much. The tofu fish puffs are to die for! Try it you won't be disappointed!

Grand Palace Restaurant

Bf was out of town so I decided to spend sometime with my best friend, Phuong. We went early in the morning to go to Benjamin Moore to check out some wallpaper designs. I liked a few but I haven't made a final decision on what I wanted yet. Afterwards we went for dim sum in Coquitlam. Everything was great and tasty except the congee which had no flavor. They basically put a bowl of plain congee and then cooked the thousand year old egg on it. No flavor what so ever. Next time don't get the congee but everything is pretty tasty.

Captain's Boil

My sister chose Captain's Boil in Richmond to welcome Mikey back. So we ordered a lot of seafood for this occasion. We had the chicken and fries (basic chicken wings you can do at home, overly dry but still eatable. The fries tasted like the ones you get at costco. The best sauce you can get is the tartar sauce which is my favourite. We ordered 2 lbs of each kind of seafood. We had shrimp, mussels, crab, snow crab and lobster. The Captain's Boil flavour was the saltiest. Lots of flavour though. I really like the mussels they were plump and juicy. I wish they had clams but they were out.
Overall, a great experience. The place was busy for a Wednesday night. Lots of parking available and convenient and close to home for us.

Mango Yummy

After Captain's Boil we decided to go nearby for dessert. We went to Mango Yummy which was in the same plaza as Captain's Boil. My sister ordered the sago, pomelo, mango mochi drink, youngest order the nutella banana crepe, younger sister's bf ordered the panna cotta and I ordered the durian pancake. The drink was good. I'm glad mango is in season or this drink would be lacking in flavor. The crepe's presentation wasn't very nice. Seemed like a scrambled eggs to me. I never got to try it so I'm not sure how it tastes. Same with the panna cotta. It looks nice but I'm not sure of the flavors. The durian pancake we super flavorful and strong. The place was filled with the smells of durian. Lovely! I personally don't mind it but others around us probably did. Overall, a great way to end a great day.
