The Roaring 20's

This year I've decided to have a costume driven theme for my birthday party so I went with the 1920's. I decided to host my birthday party at SD Galleria Lounge on Main. I was super excited to put an order for my costume as a pinup girl/1920's bartender. It was a lot of fun to see everyone dressed up to the nine's. I met the owner beforehand to come up with a party menu for a group of 30. And we came up with a set menu with a affordable set price. It came up to be $20 per person including tip and tax. The owner was super friendly and he was willing to accommodate and help us whenever we needed. He even allowed me to choose drinks that were part of the 1920's with a special price attached. Everyone commented on how tasty the drink specials were. I visited Blo Salon at the Four Seasons to get my hair finger waved for the night and I also got 2 DJs set for the night playing all of my favorite house/techno songs featuring artists such as Tiesto-Gareth Emery-Dada Life. It was an amazing night with great food, great company and great atmosphere. I couldn't ask for more. Check out the photos I took from that night.

January 16, 2013

I'm officially 28, I'm getting closer and closer to 30 and it scares me. But, today is my birthday and I'm happy. I spent most of my day just chilling. Watching dramas: Hana Kimi (korean version), playing with my Ipad 3 that I got from my sisters, winston and devo. Towards the evening, hunny surprised me with a bunch of flowers, plus a hand drawn card of me and him. We had a nice dinner at Salade De Fruits. The moules & frites were pretty good. The only thing missing is the ketchup for the fries which they do not provide and I prefer my moules & clams in sake. More fragrant and flavourful. We also had the duck pate with bread and chip. And I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and veggies. After our meal we were way to full to enjoy dessert. He also told me how he originally planned to get me an ipad but found out that I recieved one already so he went to exchange for another gift after work that day. He got me a beautiful rose gold michael kors watch that matches my ring. I love it! It's so me! After dinner we skipped dessert and went home. Had some alone time, played with my ipad and tried to watch some Lost but we didn't even get to start watching. I'm such a lucky girl to have such a great man in my life. This week will be more adventurous with Cirque De Soleil: Amaluna on Friday, and the Taboo Sex Show either on Saturday or Sunday. Can't wait its only Wednesday and tomorrow sushi with my sister and some shopping at Oakridge to pick up my dress at Aritzia, fix my watch band at Michael Kors and to pick up some groceries for dinner on Friday, and to buy some items for my sisters costumes for the next weekend. Eventful I must say!
