As some of you may know I love to cook. And I love to learn to cook the things I love to eat. One of my favourite places to eat cold noodles is Kimbab Cheonguk on north road which is also known for the best kimbab in Vancouver. So I decided to learn to make this dish. I follow Maangchi on youtube and her recipes and cooking shows encourage me to make it so I did. Here is my creation of Mul-Naengmyeon-Korean Cold Noodles. The broth takes a while to make because you have to refrigerate it for 4 hours but the rest is quite simple. I just wish the broth was tastier like the one at Kimbab Cheonguk but it was delicious nevertheless and super refreshing on a hot summer's day. Enjoy!

My Greek Taverna
Happy Birthday to my dearest mother yesterday we went to My Greek Taverna to celebrate her birthday. The place was quite busy on a Tuesday night. Thank goodness we made reservations. The place is also quite dim. I ordered the rack of lamb with a side of fries and a greek salad, my brother ordered the calamari appetizer, my mom shared a platter with my little sister which consisted of beef souvlaki, lamb chops, moussaka, dolmades, spanakopita, tzatziki, rice, roast potatoes, greek salad and pita bread, my other sister ordered a prawn souvlaki, my bf ordered the moussaka and sister's bf ordered the rack of lamb as well. Overall, the food was great, portions were large, rice was delicious. I'm not a fan of sour potatoes that is why I substituted it for fries. The proteins were on the saltier side but it went well with the rice. Overall, a great meal and ok pricing. I also ordered a durian cake for my mom from the cake workshop at the Pacific Plaza on Odin in Richmond.

Pokerrito
FINALLY! I wanted to have a sushi burrito place in vancouver and it finally happened. I was so excited to visit this place. I've always wanted to eat a sushi burrito and now I have. This place was busy because it recently opened this month. I ordered the Hanauma which consisted of salmon, green onion, sweet onion, cucumber, lettuce, seaweed salad, masago, crabmeat, edamame, ginger, radish sprout, furikake, creamy mayo sauce. Bf ordered the Diamond Head which consisted of spicy tuna, green onion, sweet onion, cucumber, lettuce, spicy seaweed salad, masago, crabmeat, jalapeno, ginger, masago, crispy onion, furikake, chilli flake, sweet chilli sauce. And on top of that bf wanted to try out the wasabi basil sauce.
Overall, the ingredients were fresh, enough filling, I was stuffed. The fish wasn't fishy at all. Bf's was too saucy maybe because he added additional sauce to his. There was just enough rice to ingredients ratio. I found bf's to be too spicy for my liking which is understandable for spicy lovers. Overall, a great place to go to. Not a lot of seating but we got take out and it was delicious. Would definitely come back for more!

Pho Capital
This past weekend, we decided to grab the closest pho around. So we stopped by Pho Capital. The service was quick we ordered number 15 just a basic pho with brisket, tripe, and tendon. The soup was on the lighter side. I think it needed more salt. They give you really little basil so we asked for more basil and jalapenos. The pho was quite expensive for a large it was $9.50 plus tax. There was more noodles then there was meat which I prefer. Overall, a mediocre pho place but if you are just craving for pho this should be fine to visit. Don't expect anything fancy.

Pho 51
Wanted to try this out for a long time. Sister and bf mentioned this place was pretty good for pho. I had the regular house special noodle soup. The meat was tender and there was lots of noodles. The noodles weren't al dente to my liking but it was decent. The broth is on the saltier side rather then sweet. The price is on the higher side: $8.50 for a large. Overall, a great meal. Next time I'll try out the Bun Bo Hue. Spicy noodle soup.
