This past weekend, Saturday was my dearest Kat's wedding. I didn't make it to the morning tea ceremony but I was able to attend the wedding ceremony held at Heritage Farms in Richmond. What a lovely place. The weather was great, the sun was shining. A beautiful day to hold a wedding. Although it was super hot because we sat in the sun area. It was all well worth it to capture this beautiful moment. Afterwards, we partake of some goodies "Kat" had made for her wedding. Incredible! to be able to make your own treats before your wedding is just dedication. She made penguin cookies, macaroons, rice crispies, etc. Even though she had help from some of her friends and cousins it was still an amazing feat. Afterwards we headed back home to rest before the dinner which started around 7pm at Floata Restaurant in Chinatown. The place was big. She had the area filled with 36 tables. We had a 12 course meal I believe of cold appetizer plate, birds nest soup, lobster, steam fish, crispy chicken with shrimp chips, mushrooms with kai lan, red bean lotus soup dessert, marshmellow bunnie with almond cookies, crab claw, celery and cuttlefish, love bird fried rice, yee mein. Overall, a good meal. There were games such as popping the balloon with your body parts, singing solo as well as group, slideshow, instagram, etc. Overall a wonderful experience. I would like to personally welcome Ray to our family. Even though it is big, each and every family will accept him and love him as our own. Congrats to Kat and Ray!

Tofino/Ucluelet
Happy BC Day! For the past long weekend a bunch of my friends and I decided to do a trip to Tofino/Ucluelet. Me and bf decided to stay in Tofino and my friends found place to stay in Ucluelet. We started off heading out early at 9am for the 10:15 ferry sailing at Tsawwassen. We stopped by the waiting area and grabbed some coffee/sandwich to go. We stayed for a bit outside the deck area of the ferry but it was super windy so we decided to go inside to sit. We then decided just to rest inside the car. After the 2 hr trip we were at Duke's Point. Bf drove 3 hours to Tofino where we stopped for some food at Tacofino food truck. We had 2 fish tacos, 2 pork and kimchi Gringas, 1 tuna taco and 1 beef taco, 1 watermelon basil slush and 1 lime and mint slush. It was a delicious meal. Super full had half a Gringa left over for snacking. Then we headed to our stay at Duffin's Resort. The place was better then I thought. It had a full kitchenette, a tub and a stand up shower and fresh towels. The only thing that wasn't to my standards was the free wifi that was promised did not even work and also the bed sheets were still wet from the wash. And there was an old odour smell in the room and the sliding door was very hard to close and open. Other then that I had a lovely stay there. Afterwards we quickly got ready to have dinner at Matterson House for dinner with my friends at Ucluelet. Me and bf shared a Manhatten chowder, a garden salad with Blackberry Vinaigrette, and a "Straw and Hay" pasta which consisted of veal and mushrooms in a garlic and cream sauce with green and white pasta. My bf had a ginger ale and I had a virgin ceaser. Afterwards we went to the Co-Op grocery store to buy some ingredients for the next night BBQ. We bought some ribs, bbq sauce to marinate the ribs in, potatoes and bacon. We went to our friend's place which is called "The Cabins." A beautiful place to stay, really big and roomy. The place was very nice and modern. Overall I wouldn't mind staying there but the area in Ucluelet was too quiet for my liking. We watched some movies ie. The Conjuring, The Maze etc. Afterwards we drove back 40 mins back to our place in Tofino.
Day 2: We started off the morning with heading for breakfast at Common Loaf Bakery. My bf had the Chicken Pesto Panini, and I had a white chocolate raspberry, cranberry muffin. We then headed over to the Tofino Water Taxi to inquire about the different trips we can do. We wanted to do the Hot Springs Tour but it was $167 per person so we decided to budget lower and we went for the Lone Cone Mountain hike which was a duration of 6 hours back and down the mountain. We started around 12:30-1pm and we got back around 7-7:30pm. The hike was very steep but it was worth it at the top because it was gorgeous! On the way back my allergies kicked in from and I was out of tissue to blow my nose but overall the hike was well worth it. We grabbed a pizza Tony's Pizza on the way back. We share a slice of pineapple and ham.
For dinner we headed over to the Ice House Oyster Bar. Bf had the Jasmine Gin Fix which consisted of Bombay Gin, Lemon, Jasmine Syrup and egg white. I had a virgin Ceaser with a fresh Kusshi Oyster. We share 12 Kusshi Oysters on the rocks, and we had the Island Clams to share which consisted off, fennel, roasted garlic and tomatoes, in a creamy white wine sauce with bread. The fennel was my favourite part of the delicious. Texture was similar to the onion but the fennel was such a delicious vegetable with a nice texture bite in every mouthful. We also had the Halibut fish and chips with tarter sauce on the side. Overall a delicious meal and I will definitely go back because the service was immaculate and the food was delicious!
We then headed over to my friends place around 9:30pm to partake of the leftover food from the BBQ which consisted of BBQ Chicken, ribs and vegetables. We then just relaxed, watched some tv and bounced back to our place.
Day 3: We woke up around 9am, got ready and packed our stuff to check out before 11am. We then headed over to Tacofino for our last meal which consisted of 3 fish tacos, 1 kimchi and pork Gringa, 1 Diablo cookie which consisted of chilli and ginger and a Pineapple Pop. The line up consisted of 12 ppl before it even opened. Bf went to the brewery to pick up a 4 pack and souvenir cup for Ray. Afterwards we sped all the way back to the ferry for our 3:15pm sailing. Afterwards, we headed home, unwind, unpacked and headed over to L'Orangerie for some Japanese pasta. Hun got the massago pasta with mushrooms, squid and asparagus and I had the Wayfu pasta with bonito flakes, mushrooms and bacon. Overall a delicious meal. Headed home, showered and passed out!
