I was craving for sour and hot noodle soup so I was searching on zomato to see what available choices I had in the lower mainland. And I came across Baan Wasana, a thai restaurant in Kitsilano. The restaurant had some lunch specials and one of the items was a Tom Yum noodle soup. I was excited because the price was decent for Thai Food. For $9.50 the meal came with a salad, and my Tom Yum Soup. The soup had a lot of depth to it. There was definitely hints of lemon grass, Kaffir leaves, tomatoes etc. We had a thai coffee and thai ice tea to start. The coffee was great, not to bitter to my liking and the thai ice tea was standard like many places. Me and bf shared a pork wonton dish. It was light and fluffy but the wonton consisted of very little pork which was a little disappointing. My bf had the Pad Thai which was authentic in flavor and taste. The noodles weren’t soggy, they didn’t use ketchup as their base and the spice level that my bf chose was on point. Overall, the flavors were on point, the price was good and we were full. Overall a great experience. Can’t wait to visit this place again and try out their curries.
