I was craving sushi so I decided to try out this new sushi place on Fraser at the Starbucks on Fraser and 49th. Owned by koreans, a tiny place that used to be a dim sum restaurant. I ordered the negitoro roll, scallop roll, veggie sunomono, california roll and 8 pieces of toro nigiri. The negitoro roll wasn't as fishy as some places like Samurai Sushi or California Sushi there was still a slight fishy taste which didn't bother me but the rice was poorly made. Mushy and overpacked. The california roll the crab meat was shredded in pieces and also had a full stick of crab meat in there. I'm not sure why maybe to fill the space with more crab meat over the avocado because avocado is quite expensive lately. I prefer the crab meat at Samurai sushi for their california rolls. The scallop roll was also lacking in flavour of the mayo which I like. My sister had the veggie sunomono and she said the noodles were soggy and the marinate was too sour. My favourite was the toro nigiri for $1.95 the fish was very fresh, not fishy and very smooth. For $40.00 this was a pricey meal. I will come back again probably just for the toro nigiri. I heard that the saba sashimi was good as well which I will also try.
