not such a great day yesterday...

Woke up around 7:20am, got ready quickly to head to my contemporary issues in graphic design class...we are currently having workshops done by fellow classmates...mine is coming up next week. My section focuses on what options we have when we graduate, preparation such as resume, portfolio and the interview. Interesting workshops today focusing on copyright, trademark laws and also fair use of work. Great artist to check out his name is Shepherd Fairey and he has been doing a lot of very controversial work such as his Obama poster seen here:

His work is truly inspirational. He calls this kind of design transformative design. He said that he usually manipulates an image 60% off the original. Here are some of my favorites from him:

so detailed and so full of life.

If you want to know a little bit more about him here's a clip from CBS: Shepherd Fairey. Another workshop was focusing on sustainability. One thing that surprised me that I learned was Walmart is currently taking initiative in being sustainable. In their website it says that they are focusing on:
  • Performance of all international markets;
  • Efforts taking place throughout the supply chain;
During lunch went to stop by the clinic waited a total time of 3 hrs!!! It was ridiculous....my x-ray results took so long to be faxed over from the hospital to the clinic.....ugh!

Got together with my exhibit team to plan out the next stages for our progress report for next week which consists of writing a creative brief to our client: the diversity faculty and to have mock ups of our diversity wall as well as storyboards of the trip to the Pendulum Gallery as well as the SFU building.

As well it was photo shoot day 2 for our work for our catalogue and here is some pics of our first photo shoot day which was on monday.

Koodos to Tianna for being an awesome photographer as usual!
